I have a 40 gal. tank with 5 small goldfish (different variety). Every morning, the water is really cloudy. I can see suspended particles in the water. I have a sandy bottom, power filter, and the fish seem healthy. The tank is by a window, but not directly in front. The water is not green from algae, but microorganisms could be the cause. I’ve used a water clarifier, but don’t want to have to use this everyday. Any suggestions?

do not over feed your goldfish only feeding them twice a day is enough.
A very informative website, you can also get much information in website.
Green water can come from overfeeding, inadequate water changes & as welll as an algae bloom. Your tank has a very high amount of nutrients & the best way to correct this is do some big water changes & stop feeding fish for a few days or feed way less than you normally would. In a few days…your water should clear up.
The tank is technically overstocked. The cloudiness is probably due to all the goldfish waste.
You’ll have to do more frequent partial water changes.
